NSA is building a workers’ compensation self-insured group for Nevada’s construction industry, and we want you at the table while it takes shape.
Join us Tuesday, November 17 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM for an information session with Pro Group Management, the firm that wrote the playbook on self-insured groups in Nevada. Pro Group worked with legislators and the Division of Insurance in 1995 to create the statutes that made these programs possible, built the first groups in the state, and is the only administrator still standing from that original group. Administering self-insured groups is the only thing they do.
Why a self-insured group
A self-insured group pools employers in the same industry to fund their own workers’ compensation coverage, with the group controlling claims handling and safety programs instead of a carrier. What that means in practice:
Pro Group’s existing programs have members and board members who have been with them since 1995. That kind of retention tells you something about how these programs perform over time.
Who should attend
Participation is limited to licensed subcontractors, general contractors, and construction material vendors and suppliers.
Brokers are encouraged to attend. You keep your role on your client’s other insurance lines, and you receive a commission or incentive when your client joins the group. This is not a program that cuts you out. Come see how it fits alongside what you already place.
